After breakfast at the kasbah hotel, we will head to a small village called Khamlia, known for its population of sub-Saharan origin and its traditional Gnawa music. Many of the inhabitants are descendants of people who came from sub-Saharan Africa and brought their traditional rhythms with them, contributing to the development of Gnawa music, a musical tradition recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a live Gnawa music performance and experience its distinctive rhythms and atmosphere. During the day, we will also have the opportunity to meet a nomadic family from the desert, who continue to preserve many of their traditional customs and way of life while adapting to some aspects of modern life. Meeting them and learning about their daily life in the Sahara will be a truly rewarding and enriching experience. Between these visits, we will explore some of the more remote areas of the desert by 4×4, passing old mining areas and former French settlements. We will also experience some of the tracks associated with the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally, which once crossed this region. Along the way, we will stop at a spectacular panoramic viewpoint where you can admire the vast expanse of the Erg Chebbi dunes. But on this day, we will not only admire the dunes from a distance. We will also enter the heart of the desert on the backs of dromedaries, crossing the golden sand dunes and making our way towards the desert camp. Upon arrival at the camp, you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night beneath a spectacular sky filled with stars.
